Though education is our primary apostolate, we are not blind to the other needs of the people. As Kerala is one of the few states in India that claims a high quality of medical treatment and a number of superspeciality hospitals, our superiors turned their attention to the poor North Indian villages when they decided to enter the healing ministry. In the early days our sisters who were trained as nurses and doctors were sent to the villages of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. History records that some of our sisters were sent to the Govt. hospitals (Medical College, Kozhikode and Govt. hospitals at Perumbavoor, Kothamangalam, Muvattupuzha and Adimaly) during this period, for it was there that our presence was needed most. Pavanatma province does not have its own clinics or hospitals. Still we are sending a few sisters to Nursing Schools so that we may render our service in this field whenever and wherever it is necessary.
We consider it as part of divine providence that a few of our sisters are engaged in evangelical works as teachers and nurses in different states of America, Italy, Germany, and Africa.
